Join Our Team as a CBS/CSS Recovery Specialist (Case Manager)!

Location: Colby, Kansas
Pay: $21.50/ hour
Make a Difference: Provide vital support and services to individuals and their families as they work toward recovery and achieving their life goals!

What You’ll Need to Thrive:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience in the human services field. Your life and work experiences matter here!
  • People Skills! Work directly with individuals facing mental health challenges—patience, understanding, and empathy are key.
  • Ability to react calmly in tough situations and help navigate through life’s obstacles.
  • Clear background checks: KBI, DCF Child Abuse, Adult Abuse Registry, and motor vehicle screens.
  • A passion for technology—we’re all about staying updated and efficient!
  • Driver’s License: Sometimes, you’ll need to be the hero who provides transportation.

What You’ll Do (Superpowers Required!):

  • Be a Champion of Support: You’ll help create and maintain a network of support for clients and their families—whether through community resources or direct assistance.
  • Lead Group Activities: Using your creativity, you’ll lead rehabilitation group activities that are as engaging as they are impactful.
  • Be a Problem-Solver: Partner with patients and stakeholders to create treatment plans that lead to recovery.
  • On-Call Hero: From time to time, you’ll step into action during a crisis, offering mobile and after-hours mental health support.
  • Documentation Wizardry: Keep detailed and accurate records of the services you provide (don’t worry, you’ll master it!).
  • Be a Community Connector: You’ll be out in the community, spreading the word about our services and ensuring people who need help find it.

About High Plains Mental Health Center

High Plains Mental Health Center, is a licensed Community Mental Health Center, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, and licensed Substance Use Disorder treatment program dedicated to an aggressive pursuit of providing a comprehensive mental health program to the residents of Northwest Kansas. Embodied in this pursuit are fundamental principles of establishing quality services as close to home as possible, at an affordable fee and delivered in the least disruptive manner available. Such services will offer a continuum of care so that treatment can be individualized. Staff will respond quickly and compassionately to those reaching out to us.
