Our Transmission Engineering department has a leadership opportunity, either as a supervisor or manager. This person will provide guidance on engineering and structural design efforts for transmission lines.
Sunflower, a generation and transmission cooperative serving Kansas, is hiring a Structural Engineering Supervisor or Manager in Great Bend, Hays, Garden City, or Wichita. This position will oversee the transmission engineering group and related structural design efforts and strategic activities for transmission lines.

Supervisor Summary and Qualifications:
Supervises the daily activities of the transmission engineering group and structural design efforts related to transmission lines. Support strategic plans and objectives of Sunflower Electric Power Corporation (Sunflower). Coordinate activities with other departments and outside agencies.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution, preferably civil, structural or electrical engineering, and eight years practical utility and/or utility engineering consultant experience.
Professional Engineer license is required.

Manager Summary and Qualifications:
Manage and provide engineering expertise to the transmission engineering group and structural design efforts related to transmission lines. Manage the development of procedures to support strategic plans and objectives of Sunflower Electric Power Corporation (Sunflower). Develop, recommend, and implement plans with other departments and outside agencies by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include all scheduling, resources, and information for complex transmission line engineering functions.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution, preferably civil, structural or electrical engineering, and ten years practical utility and/or utility engineering consultant experience. At least three years of experience must have been in progressive leadership roles within an engineering environment.
Professional Engineer license is required.
