Exciting Opportunity: Customer Service/Medical Records Assistant

Location: Hays Office

Supervisor: Customer Service/Medical Records Manager

Hours: Full-time; M-F 9am-6pm (alternating schedule on Mon. 12pm-9pm)

 

Pay: $17.61 per hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet patients, families, and the public in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer and process phone calls according to office procedures
  • Assist with new patient processing and scheduling, including handling cancellations and rescheduling
  • Manage release of information forms and record requests
  • Ensure proper filing, scanning, and maintenance of patient records
  • Provide support for the discharge process and assist with other program coverage as needed
  • Process outgoing mail, faxes, and deposits
  • Perform other office duties such as data entry, document copying, and clerical support
  • Work assigned schedule, including rotating Monday evening shifts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with coursework in modern office practices or one year of related experience
  • Strong general office and computer skills, including proficiency with various software applications and office equipment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to work with technology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

About High Plains Mental Health Center

We are a Licensed Community Mental Health Center, Behavioral Health Clinic, and Licensed Substance Use Disorder treatment program for Northwest Kansas.  We offer counseling, therapy, substance use treatment, community-based support services and psychiatry services. We have six full-time offices and 20 additional service locations. Telehealth services are widely available.

We proudly serve 20 counties which include 19,000 square miles in Northwest Kansas, since 1964.  High Plains is a non-profit organization and one of the 26 Licensed Community Mental Health Centers in Kansas.
