Position Summary
Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems has an opening for a full-time Insurance Billing Clerk. This position is responsible for performing all assigned Business Office functions in accordance with policies and procedures of MCHHS. Key responsibilities include patient confidentiality; knowledgeably reviewing and submitting patient insurance claims with accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing demographics, insurance and/or other pertinent information; actively following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe; and maintaining updated and error-free patient account records. This individual must ensure compliance with all rules and regulations for Medicare, Medicaid, other Federal Health Insurance programs, and all Commercial payers. Qualifications
- High School graduate or its equivalent
- Billing experience preferred, but not required
- Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred
