Travel Outpatient Therapist (QMHP) 

Location: Hays, Kansas (travel to Colby as needed, Center vehicle provided)

Job Type: Full-time; M-F

Salary: $61,748 annually

 

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about making a lasting impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities? High Plains Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) (Outpatient Therapist—Traveling to Colby) to provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals in need. As an Outpatient Therapist, you will conduct evaluations, offer psychotherapy and counseling, and provide crisis intervention services to patients in Hays and surrounding areas. You will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The QMHP will be involved in intake assessments, screenings, and referrals, with a focus on comprehensive care delivery in our Outpatient Program, Screening & Referral Services.

Competitive Compensation:

Salary: $61,748 annually, with potential for growth based on experience and qualifications
Sign-on Bonus: $325 following successful completion of your 90-day orientation period

Key Responsibilities:

As an Outpatient Therapist, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Psychotherapy & Counseling: Provide individual, marital, family, and/or group therapy in line with service hour expectations.
  • Crisis Intervention & Intake Assessments: Conduct intake assessments, provide crisis intervention, and ensure appropriate referrals. Services may be delivered face-to-face or through telehealth interactions for patients in various locations, including the Hays office and branch locations.
  • Case Management & Care Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to effectively manage patient care and ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Clinical Documentation: Complete timely and accurate clinical and administrative documentation in accordance with Center policies and compliance requirements.
  • Prevention, Education, and Outreach (PEO): Support the Prevention, Education, and Outreach Program by providing education and outreach services as needed, in coordination with your supervisor.
  • Supervision & Professional Development: Participate in scheduled individual and group supervision sessions to enhance clinical skills and ensure best practices.
  • Substance Abuse Disorder Services: Provide services to patients with substance use issues, ensuring all necessary certifications are maintained.
  • Special Populations: Be prepared to serve specific sub-populations based on your unique skills, training, or education.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • Licensure: Current Kansas BSRB license as one of the following:
    • Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Master Level Psychologist, or Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist
    • Licensed Master Social Worker (clinical track) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker
    • Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with Mental Health Training track
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in the use of technology (computers, software, printers, scanners, etc.) and a commitment to continuous improvement in the application of these tools
  • License Requirements: Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Background Check: Ability to pass an intensive background check, including KBI, DCF checks, and a drug/alcohol screen
