Valley Hope of Norton, located in northwest Kansas, has provided residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment services since 1967. Valley Hope of Norton is the ORIGINAL Valley Hope, and we take great pride in that. The story of Valley Hope begins and continues on the grounds we work every day.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Licensed as a Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
Associate’s degree in nursing required for RN applicants
Work experience in substance abuse treatment industry is preferred.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
COMPENSATION:
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus
Starting at up to $40/hr based on education and experience
Shift Differentials:
Night: $4.25
Weekend Night: $4.75
JOB SUMMARY:
Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patient.
Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
Assists with detox admissions and provides patient care support during patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patient.
Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.

In this role you will act as liaison and resource for alumni, fostering long-term relationship with the organization. Occasional evening and weekend work required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
One (1) year of work experience with an emphasis on office administration or event planning/project management experience.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a preference for emphasis in Non-Profit Leadership or Business Studies.
Two (2) years work experience for a non-profit organization with a preference for emphasis on event planning/project management experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates all activities related to facility-specific alumni and family support.
Maintains alumni database including family contacts.
Communicates with alumni regularly via phone and email.
Maintains and tracks important alumni sobriety data via documented wellness checks.
Collaborates with clinical staff to provide and maintain list of current, temporary sponsor options for discharging patients.
Meet with each patient group and patient prior to discharge, providing information and opportunity to join the Alumni Program.
Coordinates Alumni Chapter Meetings in various satellite locations. Develop and coordinate regional quarterly activities. (ie: bowling, hiking)
Maintain data base of volunteers will to act as temporary sponsors, Chapter meeting ambassadors, panel discussion participants, event speakers or Hope Builder Board members.
Attends weekly treatment team meetings to collaborate and support aftercare.
Works with Director of Development, facility leadership, and volunteer Hope Builder Boards in the coordination of fundraising activities and alumni development.
Travels as needed to facility/event sites/locations (estimated 20 - 30% of time)
Collaborates and Communicates with Foundation Department to identify, gather and collect contact information for donor prospects.
Collaborates and Communicates with Marketing Department to generate admissions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office setting with traditional hours, weekend and evening hours may be required.
Must be able to travel – estimated at 20-30% of the time.
