Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a member owned electrical distribution cooperative dedicated to “Delivering Energy for Life” to our communities in western and central Kansas. We have an opening for a Staking Technician. On the job training is provided. This job is located in our Scott City, Kansas office and will service our Scott City and Leoti territories. You will be empowered and exposed to situations that will utilize your training including designing and laying out electrical distribution and service facilities, and surveying and inspecting lines . You’ll have hands on learning opportunities both in and out of the office.

Summary:
Provide maximum service to the member-consumer by providing prompt and efficient responses to requests for service or information, by investigating, surveying, inspecting, and staking electric distribution lines in accordance with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) specifications to obtain the most efficient and effective system design.
Top Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to use a computer and its corresponding accessories including a mouse, keyboard and monitor. This also includes the ability to learn new software as needed.
Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Able to listen and interpret what individuals are asking/telling you.
Able to maintain confidential Cooperative and employee information.
Using basic mathematical formulas to solve problems.
Detail Oriented.
